Starting adulthood can feel overwhelming, especially when depression, trauma, or lingering emotional pain makes it hard to move forward. If you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of who you’re becoming, you’re not alone. I work with individuals ages 13 and older, but specializing in helping adults between the ages of 18 to 25 years old. Many young adults I work with feel weighed down by sadness or numbness, replay stressful or painful experiences in their minds, struggle with sleep or nightmares, or find themselves avoiding people, places, or situations that remind them of what they’ve been through. You might be having a hard time keeping up with school or work, pulling away from others, or feeling overly critical of yourself and the world around you. These experiences are common for individuals navigating major depressive disorder, PTSD, or persistent depressive disorder, especially during major life transitions. Therapy offers a supportive, compassionate space to make sense of what’s happening and to begin building tools that help you feel more grounded and connected, which can include being able to handle stress more effectively and having a clear mind. I work with clients on a weekly basis, and together we focus on understanding patterns, developing coping skills, and creating meaningful change. Over time, many clients notice fewer nightmares, less distress around reminders of past experiences, more balanced beliefs about themselves and others, improved sleep, and a renewed ability to enjoy life. If you’re ready to explore a different way forward, I’d be glad to talk with you. Please call to schedule a free 15-minute consultation or email me to get started.
